How to Make Chicken Parmesan Meatballs (Simplified)

  1. Mix the chicken, egg, seasoning, Parmesan, and breadcrumbs. Shape into meatballs.
  2. Brown the meatballs in an oven-safe skillet.
  3. Add broth and marinara to the pan and let it simmer.
  4. Return the meatballs, top with mozzarella, and bake until melted and bubbly.
  5. Serve over spaghetti.

Helpful Tips and Variations

  • Any marinara or red sauce works well here, so use one you already love.
  • Fresh mozzarella melts beautifully and gives you those irresistible cheesy pockets, but freshly shredded mozzarella works great too.
  • If you only have plain breadcrumbs, just add a little extra Italian seasoning to boost flavor.
  • Want to add a little extra nutrition? Stir chopped spinach or kale into the sauce while it simmers and let it cook down before adding the meatballs back to the pan.

Cetcu Tip: A small sprinkle of grated Parmesan right before serving adds a lot of flavor with almost no extra effort.

Storage

FAQs

Can I use ground turkey instead of chicken?

Yes, ground turkey works great in this recipe and cooks the same way.

What oil should I use for browning?

Olive oil or avocado oil both work well. You only need enough to lightly coat the pan.

Can these be served without pasta?

Absolutely. They’re delicious on their own or served in a toasted sub roll.

  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

  2. Break the mixture into 12-14 pieces and roll each one into a ball.
  3. Heat a little bit of oil in a large cast iron or oven-safe pan. Cook your meatballs for about 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
