Allstate Good Hands Roadside Assistance & Rules for Driving Teens

As a parent safety is always the first thing on my mind when driving, and even more so now that my youngest just turned 15 this week and will be getting her driving permit any day {yikes! how did THAT happen?}.  That means we now have to worry about both of our girls when they are out on the road.  No matter how careful we all are when driving, things can and will happen……accidents, flat tires, car trouble or running out of gas.

We have been discussing things like how to jump a battery, how to pull over with a flat tire, what to do if she leaves the movie theater to find out she forgot to turn the headlights out, always pay attention to the gas gauge and what we would do if she was stranded an hour away from home.

Fortunately, the Good Hands Roadside Assistance service from Allstate gives us access to the Allstate 24/7 Nationwide Roadside network, with no annual fee.  That’s right! Allstate wants every driver to be safe on the road, Good Hands® Roadside Assistance is the first free-to-join, pay-per-use, roadside assistance service that is available to all drivers, not just Allstate customers. you can be in Good Hands® even if you’re not an Allstate policy holder.  I LOVE that peace of mind.

What a relief this program is…….knowing that help is just a phone call away and I don’t have to worry about a monthly bill to pay for “just in case”.   Knowing that any of us could be stranded on the highway with a flat tire or worse and not have to run thru our contacts to see who’s around to come help, THAT kind of service is priceless.

So I have to be honest………I’m a nervous wreck knowing my youngest is ready to start driving.  Any suggestions?  We’ve been thru this once before, but it’s been 8 years and it never get’s any easier.
