Magimix by Robot-Coupe 16- Cup Food Processor {ARV $500}

I have a confession to make, I have never owned a food processor.  I’ve wanted one for a long time, so I was over the moon excited when I recently received a Magimix by Robot-Coupe 16 Cup Food Processor to review and I loved it so much I’ve got one to give away too!!!  And get this…….it is not just a food processor, it also works with a Juice Extractor and Smoothie Attachment (yeah, the winner gets that too!)

Robot-Coupe is a French company that has been making food processors for over 40 years. In fact, their founder invented one of the very first food processors. They  have a reputation for being solid and well-built; you will find Robot-Coupe food processors in many restaurant kitchens. Their food processors are made in France, and the motors come with a 12-year-guarantee. Astounding!

Magimix 5200 XL (ARP $499.95)

The Magimix 5200XL has a nice large feed tube & pusher for greater convenience & speed when slicing, shredding or grating larger potatoes, cabbage, cheese, etc. The design also allows the 5200xl food processor to be used left or right handed with comfort. Building on the strengths of the 4200, the 5200 features a commercial grade 1100w motor and  3 mixing bowls. This machine is suited to large food preparation for the cook that needs to slice or grate in quantities, as well as a great tool for large parties and dinners.

includes:

• 6-cup, 12-cup and 16-cup mixing bowls.
• 2 metal Sabatier blades, one for small bowl, and one for medium and large bowls.
• Dough blade.
• 2 grating discs; 2 mm and 4 mm.
• 2 slicing discs; 2 mm and 4 mm.
• Blender mix attachment.
• Citrus Press.
• Egg whisk.
• Spatula.
• Recipe book and DVD.
• Storage box.

Let me tell you, this workhorse is DREAMY!  You can shred, mix, puree, make juices, smoothies, soups, jams, sorbets, doughs, and more all with one machine. The Magimix by Robot-Coupe comes with three work bowls that stack inside each other, when you are using the smallest bowl to process something (nuts or herbs for example), you stack it right inside the large bowl.  No need to stop and wash the bowls while making a recipe, love that!  Thanks to all the attachments, it’s like having a food processor, mixer, mini chopper, grater, mandoline, and juice press all in one. The motor is very powerful, and very quiet and does its job; you don’t even have to scrape the bowl when adding ingredients.

This food processor is super easy to use.  There are only three buttons: Off, On, and Pulse. No decisions to make about speed and power. All removable parts are dishwasher safe, so clean up is a breeze as well!

Magimix Attachments

In addition to the attachments that come with the machine, Magimix also offers additional attachments such as a Dough Bowl Attachment (on my wish list) , a Mash and Puree Kit(great for big batches of mashed potatoes), a Creative Slicing Discs Kit and my favorite, the Juice Extractor and Smoothie Attachment (besides being great for smoothies, I can’t wait to use this to make jam).

Magimix by Robot-Coupe Food Processor Juice Extractor & Smoothie Attachment (ARP $79.95)

• Ideal for making creamy all-natural smoothies, juices, flavorful sorbets and other dishes that call for fresh juice
• Efficiently processes juice for jams, jellies, sorbets and soups.
• Works with standard fruits like citrus, and includes a funnel for soft fruits such as strawberries and bananas.

Splurge-worthy? I say yes! Don’t do a LOT of cooking for large goups? The Magimix by Robot-Coupe Food Processor comes in three sizes-a 12, 14, and 16 cup (exclusively available in the US at Williams Sonoma),  so you can choose the size that best fits your kitchen needs.

If you are in the market for a workhorse food processor, you can’t do better than this one!

Do you know a Dad who loves to be in the kitchen?  This would make a great Father’s Day gift!

My friends at Robot-Coupe would like to give one lucky Cetcu reader their own Magimix 16-cup Food Prossesor 5200 XL and Juice Extractor and Smoothie Attachment (sold separately)! That’s a retail value of $580! How sweet is THAT?!
